Inspired by Japanese design Yin & Yang honors the interdependence between nature and humans by immersing the space with the five elements.
The five elements —metal, wood, water, fire, and earth—are reflected in the space through living walls, waterfall features, tables with burners, live edge tables, live herb gardens, metal teapots, and metal accents in the furniture. The furniture and fixtures have a strong Japanese influence which links and enhances the original stylistic hints in the building to the design concept.
Goal: This project aims to rehabilitate a historical building by assigning a new use to the existing property while maintaining its historical value.
